The new Icom IC 9700 VHF UHF SHF D STAR Transceiver

Post by M0XXQ » Fri Nov 16, 2018 8:47 am

The long awaited reveal of the new Icom 9700 VHF/UHF/SHF Multimode transceiver price has been listed at £1,795.95 sterling including VAT, given the fact that there is nothing else on the market that comes close feature and specification wise it seems like a fair price point.

None of the dealers seem to be competing on the price front however most dealers except LAMCO in Barnsley are asking for a paid deposit for reservation on the new rig, as I understand it LAMCO are offering a zero deposit reservation.

Due for release around February 2019 here in the UK I personally can't wait to see the reviews and the YouTube videos of this radio in action, I would be interested in other peoples thoughts.

Is SHF Included or is it a extra module?

According to the spec sheet it is fitted as standard Mark, which is a major game changer.

Hmmm well then it will for those that enjoy what it has to offer Rob....I will not be remotely interested unfortunately as I am happy with HF and rarely VHF.

I was looking forward to it but not interested in 23 cms :o so i wish you could have it without,

sadly i have used the 991a for a few days and don’t like it,

i also had 2 910hx and found them a nice radio barring there well known issues on Tx,

i await my fate,
