Winding smaaall toroids - looking for tips

Unread post by VK5TM »

I have a project on the go and need to wind some coils on FT37-43 toroids.

My fingers are not that nimble any more, so looking for any tips that might make the task a little easier (space is a problem, so can't use bigger toroids).

Good eyes :D or good glasses and use different coloured marker pens to colour each wire so you don't get lost

Good eyes - too late for that! :D

Got the glasses, but they don't help with the fingers. :(

Really must find a supplier of the different coloured copper wire, some of these windings use wire that is too fine for the felt pen trick.

I posted the same query on the Australian Ham Radio Discussion Forum ( https://ahrdf.net/forum/index.php ) and this was one of the answers that will be useful and may be helpful to others:
Have a look at Alan Wolke’s W2AEW YouTube channel. Video #151.
