Yaesu sp10 speaker improvement

Unread post by M0VMT »

I bought a sp10 knowing the sound is documented as poor but i didn't pay full price even though it was as new so it was worth a punt and it is the matching speaker for my 991a.
Well I ordered the replacement speaker before I received the sp10 this one
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MQM0OAT/ ... 5EbEJQKC9J

When the speaker came I coupled it up and it sounded terrible, so thin and light on sound this is the reason why and you can see the difference in the elements.
It sounds great now so be prepared to simply change the 2.5 inch speaker to one of your choice if you buy a sp10.

How on earth can they get away with charging the sort of money they do for that?
Nice job mate, looks proper.

Rob it's absolutely ridiculous those speakers are £110 and yaesu put a speaker in it like that, I put £8.99 in to it and improved it drastically.
Yaesu got this speaker wrong and got it a bad name for the sake of a few quid.

Yaesu would have been laughing all the way to the bank with all the suckers punters that bought it.

Look inside almost any earlier Yaesu rig and much the same speaker is inside.
