What Ham You Done Today ??

Unread post by M0HJO »

Not much here, still waiting to go back to work, so caught up on some Council work, this afternoon, fitted an outside this morning.

Just about to have tea, my used TS-2000X has turned up will give it a whiz later!
Its for slow time radio in the shack (VHF/UHF/SHF) and portable in the van.

Its a 2018 model, one of the last made, few light scratches, (how on a two year old model) so have ordered a new top cover.

I'm up painting the chimney tomorrow, so while there Ill check the 80M dipole balun.

JB.
Glad to be Here.

Well, it was a little wet today, not bad but the wind was also up, so nothing outside.
I did a little bit of VHF in the shack this morning.

I'm sat at home because of the virus, my work closed until 4 July.
But was called out this afternoon due to lost of power there.
Sorted it, fuse board has turned to toast!

Tonight I had a zoom meeting with the Council, finished at 10pm!!
Coffee time.

I'm going to see what's about, (radio wise) then bed.
Glad to be Here.

Nothing on the operating front, but last few days have been building an auto antenna tuner.

Hammer is dual purpose, holding display at the right angle for the photo and for later use in gentle persuasion :D during final testing phase.

It's spec'ed to cover 1.8 - 50 MHz and 100w in it's standard form.

If you are prepared to do a better pcb (to accommodate bigger relays and better capacitors) it can be used as the base for an up to 1500w tuner, all configurable in software.

From Ebay - ATU-100 and/or N7DDC will find it, about $60 AUD for the full kit without the display - will take the small OLED or 16 x 2 LCD.

Pictured version is the 7x7 - 7 inductors, 7 caps.

Full details are here https://github.com/Dfinitski/N7DDC-ATU- ... ded-boards

Note that it says software version 3 - now closed, but he is still updating/modifying the software (last update 21 days ago).

Well, the antron99 was taken down this morning and replaced with a Serio 2016, this is what I use for 10M band along with a small beam.

I have to say, the 2016 will tune from 20M to 6M will an ATU and is not a bad compromise compared to antennas dedicated for those bands.

Yes it isn't a bad compromise when you look at price of some crushcrafts and hustlers etc.... rf has to go somewhere doesn't it.

No Ham allowed today, (wedding anniversary) but the 2M beam is going back up tomorrow!

I'm just trying to work out, where I'm going to put the 23cm beam :? (and 70cm if I can be assed)

So many bands, not enough room
