OK so not everyone's cuppa char but I, personally, don't mind a wee bit of contesting!
My local club, Cockenzie & Port Seton ARC, are very successful at putting a multi station on the air with the call GM2T and I enter a few when I'm not on shift with my own contest call MM1T  8-)
CQWW, for instance, is 48hrs of beer, pizza, barbecue, beer, chinese munchies, maybe some beer a whole load of laddish daft behaviour and of course some radio .... oh and did I mention beer!
Of course I can't speak for others however my aim is to beat myself as I'm never going to compete with the 5k+Optibeam chappies with my 100w and wires so every contest I enter I simply look to better my previous score.
It's a fairly good way of putting a few extra dxcc's into your log as well that, maybe, otherwise not get in!

Good company, good crack, beer & radio ..... what's not to like 8-)

All bands from 160-20 were rammed with S9+20 signals into the early hours.
Any info on this I would be interested ;)
No problem, i will knock an article up this evening with some video and pics.

If you don't hear much in your antennas and the only stations you hear is when a contest is on then you need to revamp your wires.
What are your antennas including baluns and chokes??

I hate contesting with a passion but I'm happy to go to the warc bands or 30metres and play radio, sorry I don't mean to come across negative but a 5/9 123 73 xyz qrz does nothing for me.
