My Genesis G59 SDR Transceiver

Hi Everyone

Just thought I would share some build pictures of my Genesis G59 SDR transceiver project which I built back in 2010.

The Genesis G59 is an all mode 160-6M SDR transceiver and back in 2010 this radio was probably the best if not the only SDR transceiver kit available on the amateur radio market.

I still operate my G59 and enjoy the magnificence this transceiver is capable of.

Today in 2018 you can still buy the G59 in kit form which is testimony to the developers who designed this great transceiver.

Here is an image of my completed transceiver front view:

The transceiver rear view:

The Main G59 PCB completed & ready to go:

The GPA10 Amplifier PCB:

Starting to case the G59 & GPA10 PCB's:

The PA board mounted into the bottom of the case. The small aluminium box houses the USB hub control circuit:

PCB's stacked, GPA10 on the bottom then G59 on the top followed by an aluminium shield:

Everything is in the case, the copper PCB enclosure houses a USB sound card, the two black blocks you see hanging over the front panel are 600 ohm isolation transformers that were later located inside the sound module enclosure:

So there we have it my Genesis G59 transceiver in all its glory :!:
