Well people that know me, know I'm an icom fan, or was lol
But I do run a 990 in the shack nowadays, never had much time for Yaesu.

I will tell you this, the 101D is a fine radio!
The RX is fantastic, TX is clean, once the EQ is set up, beautiful!

At the time of testing, it was alongside a 7700 from icom, I had a sked on 80M with the friends, doing the works with the EQ etc.
QPR station called in, I tried for 10min trying to work him on the 7700, no go, could not pull out of the noise.
Changed to the 101D, contact was made, it was hard going, but yep we had a QSO.
Just to prove a point, went back and forwards between the 7700 & 101D, made contact every time on the 101D, not once on the 7700.

My only gripe is the screen and graphics were so android looking!
Only a small thing, when you look at the rest of the radio!

Price wise, gives the 7610, 890 runs for the money.

I wouldn't rule out another.

John.
