The icom IC-7700 is probably one of my favorite radios, just class!
First launched in 2007, I believe they stopped making it in 2016.
In 2011 an improved single type PA device was used, the dual prier to this had a problem and some would fail, so bear this in mind when buying used. In 2016 the screen was also improved with a back lit LED type, shortly after this it was discontinued I believe.
Easy to set up and use, not much in the way of adjustment audio wise, mic gain, compression, Bass & Treble, away you go.
Good solid 200W out, (after 2011 that is) I used mine into the PW-1 amp, plug and play both being icom.
The RX is fantastic, you can hear a pin drop on the other side of the world!!
TX always had good reports, good ATU compared with other rigs.
Built like a tank, I preferred it to the 7800, RX was just better.
In my time, I've had a few, sadly my last one had to go, to fund the TS-990, I couldn't keep both, but I would have liked to!
I've seen these go for as little as, £1800, crazy money for such a radio!
I wouldn't rule out another.
